Biorotor filter for marine and freshwater aquariums up to 250 litres (c. 65 gal)

The Biostar is a complete biological and mechanical filter system for aquariums up to 250 l (c. 65 gal) volume and is easily mounted as a hang on filter (4 cm, c. 1.6" capacity) outside the aquarium.
Its principal component is the Biorotor, a rotating sponge wheel. This wheel is only partly immersed and as a result, the bacteria living on the sponge are alternately emersed and submersed. This encourages a high oxygen uptake and the filter becomes a powerful reducer of biological waste - volume to volume far more efficient than conventional trickle filters.

The Biostar is equipped with a pre filter sponge for mechanical filtration and a circulation pump with a capacity of 1000 l/h (c. 250 gph).
